How to set Proxy server settings in Android

If your facility uses a proxy server you may need to configure your Android tablet with manual proxy settings in order to connect to the Internet. These settings are available in Android 4.0 (ICS) and above.

Go to Settings/Wi-Fi
Tap the name of your wireless network
Fill in your Wi-Fi password and check the box "Show advanced options"
You'll now see a settings area for "Proxy settings". Choose "manual" , then scroll down and fill in the necessary info.

Later, if you need to modify the proxy settings (or to add proxy settings to an existing connection):
Go to Settings/Wi-FI and long press on the name of your network, then choose modify
Scroll down to reveal the "show advanced options" checbox, then proceed as above
