Acer Iconia W700 Windows 8 Tablet Offers High Performance

After the introduction of the touch friendly Windows8 OS, there’s been an overflow of Windows8 tablets in the market with many manufacturers like Dell, Lenovo and HP introducing their own devices. Even Microsoft has launched two Windows 8 tablets – the Surface RT and Surface Pro. So, can tech giant Acer be far behind. It has introduced two Windows 8 tablets – a lower-end W510, and a more powerful model, the Iconia W700. The Acer IconiaW700 is a powerful best. It runs on a powerful Intel Core i5 processor and has a gorgeous 11.6-inch high-resolution display. It comes with a bulky faux leather protective case, a Bluetooth wireless keyboard and a docking station that doubles as a stand. The tablet even runs the older Windows software and graphics-intensive games.

An adapter to connect the tablet to an external monitor or projector is standard. It has HD cameras on the front and back, and packs a USB 3.0 port and physical volume button.

The downside is that the Iconia W700 is thick and weighs more than two pounds, which makes it uncomfortable to carry while traveling. The dock and case adds bulk to the tablet.

Another drawback of the Iconia W700 is its high cost. The tablet is priced at $1,000 tablet – the same price of an iPad or iPad Mini.

On the other hand, the Iconia W700 boasts excellent battery life (more than six hours) and a very fast interface that is highly capable and responsive.
